Delaware Bayshore Beach Restoration

Earth Day Film - Delaware Bayshore Restoration for at-risk Wildlife Levoy Theatre 126-130 N High Street Video highlights scientists restoring Hurricane Sandy-damaged beaches to protect at-risk shorebirds and promote coastal resiliency The Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey (CWF) and American Littoral Society (The Littoral Society) will present A Race Against Time, a film screening about the Delaware Bayshore Restoration in honor of Earth Day 2014 on April 22 from 6 to 8 PM at the Levoy Theatre at 130 N. High Street in Millville, New Jersey. The free screening will feature a reception with food generously donated by Runaway Chefs and local wine generously discounted by Belleview Winery. A question-and-answer session after the video will feature project leader and biologist Larry Niles, CWF Executive Director David Wheeler, and American Littoral Society Executive Director Tim Dillingham. This 30-minute video documents the ambitious campaign to restore Delaware Bayshore beaches decimated by Hurricane Sandy, ensuring the at-risk horseshoe crabs and globally migrating shorebirds that rely on this habitat can survive. The project was funded by the New Jersey Recovery Fund, and the video is produced by CWF, Greener New Jersey Productions, and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network. The second phase of this beach restoration project is currently in process. More information can be found on CWF at www.ConserveWildlifeNJ.org.
